Dear Class of 2007:
Hello from your Junior Class officers. We hope your year has gotten off to a smooth start; indeed, this will be a pivotal year for us all. From the standpoint of your officers, this is a pivotal year as well. We have only 16 or 17 more months to raise funds and dramatically reduce the cost of your prom tickets, allowing you to splurge on frilly suits and expensive limousines.
We have a lot of ideas for how best to do this, but in order to make them into reality, we're going to need your help. Throughout the year we'll be holding fundraisers, selling items, and preparing for the Taste of Lower Merion. We implore you to get involved with the class, join a committee or at least participate in a fundraiser every now and then. Speaking of fundraisers, the class is beginning one called “Twisted Pretzel Thursday.” It’s currently in its trial phases, however if all goes well, we hope to implement it in the coming weeks.
Even if you don't plan to get involved, you can still stay informed. For our first move as officers, we created a website (http://www.LmClassof2007.com) with information about events, minutes from our meetings, links, and amusing photos. Log on as often as you can to see what your class is up to.
Although money is a major driving force behind this administration, gathering and tending to it are not the only reasons we're in power. We also love to give back to the community. In order to do this, we'll be organizing some community service activities to benefit the local area. Check the web site and listen to announcements for more information.
If you have any ideas, suggestions, or questions, please feel free to contact us. We're very friendly people and we'd be more than happy to assist you. We believe that governing is a partnership with the students. Our goal is to not only have this officer team as an organizational tool for the class, but also to work with you to help ensure our collective success. We welcome any and all input and with your help, we will make this year productive, enriching, and enormously profitable.
